]]> http://marcandvic.com/2008/09/08/old-mcdonald/feed/ 0 Holiday fun for the kids http://marcandvic.com/2008/07/17/holiday-fun-for-the-kids/ http://marcandvic.com/2008/07/17/holiday-fun-for-the-kids/#comments Thu, 17 Jul 2008 10:37:05 +0000 vic http://marcandvic.com/?p=1045 Caught up with Ali (a school friend of mine today) and her children.  It was great to see them but also realised just how much I miss them.  They live a couple of hours away and we don’t get to see them that often – last time was about a year ago.  Having kids at school, and both of us with husbands and kids that play sport in the weekend means we can really only meet during the school holidays now.  We both drove for an hour to meet in the middle, the kids had a run around in the park for an hour and a half, then we had lunch and more play at McDonalds.  The kids all played well together although Elliot still thinks he’s the Kung Fu Panda and had to remind him not to hit the others!  Here’s a photo of Jack (7), Abbey (6), Max (5) and Elliot (3).

What we should have realised of course is that for the next God-knows-how-long we would have three and five year olds terrorising each other with very dodgy martial arts moves.  Elliot gets terrified with Max pretending to punch and kick him and wails his head off.  All terrible until Max gets bored and turns his back then a three year old Bruce Lee comes bursting out and he somehow thinks that Max will be OK with a karate chop to the head…….

Every time I create a post relating to the birthdays I always comment on how fast time is passing and it’s the same this year.

Yesterday we took him and four of his friends out to McDonald’s for lunch and it was a great party – no stress, no mess and the kids all really enjoyed it. Here’s a pic of him blowing out the candles on the cupcakes Vic made that had each of their initials spelled out in mini m&m’s :)

Here’s the timeline that occurred yesterday:

15:30: Elliot is as grumpy as hell so Vic sends him off to bed for a nap

16:45: I get home early from work and head upstairs to bring him down

17:00: After 15 minutes of a stroppy almost three year old whining that he wants to go back to bed I put him in his PJ’s, clean his teeth and put him back into bed

22:00: I just know he’s going to be up early so I head off to bed

05:05: Elliot wakes up in a really good mood and he and I head down for some breakfast

Yep, into bed at 3:30 in the afternoon with hardly any lunch and no dinner – what a freak :)
