I’ve had an absolutely stinking cold for the last 5 days and it’s starting to annoy me. If it was a normal week coming up I wouldn’t be so worried but this is what my next nine days are like:
Thursday: Normal work day
Friday: Get up at 03:00, leave home at 04:00 to drive to the airport and catch a 06:30 flight to Sydney, spend the day hosting a customer who is travelling to Sydney for a storage demo, catch the 17:15 flight back, land at 23:40, get home about 00:30
Saturday: Weekend
Sunday: Weekend
Monday: Public holiday – much yayness!
Tuesday: Work the morning and then a get a cab to the airport for a 15:30 flight to……Sydney!
Wednesday: Training
Thursday: Training
Friday: Training then cab back to Sydney airpot, catch the 17:15 flight back, land at 23:40, get home about 00:30
My cold had better go at some point during this……

For the most part Max and Elliot get on OK. Elliot adores Max and he’ll follow him with his eyes all day. Max, on the other hand, can take or leave his little brother I think
At times he loves him to bits (but doesn’t realise he’s much bigger) and at other times he’s just a jealous, attention craving monster – which I think is normal
Here they are showing each other some brotherly love.

I was writing a custom 404 page for this site and thought I’d have a look around our old joint site while I was poking around.
There’s no blog data but the photo album makes for interesting viewing. There are digital photos there that are seven years old and in looking through them I had a couple of thoughts…. The first was that I really over-sharpened my photos in the early days and the second was that I was really into panoramas
Ahh – I miss the days of spare time……
Here’s a “recent” one – only three years old

I know, I know another entry relating to Max’s bowel movements but hey, it’s a big part of our lives (sad I know!)
He’s done so well over the last four days with the only “accidents” happening when he’s been out and in pull ups – so no mess to clean up
The other night he also woke up at about 10pm and asked to go to the toilet which was a good sign. All and all he’s been fantastic so yesterday I went out and bought him a present to show how proud we were of him and I had planned on giving it to him today.
What made giving all the better was the fact that he had his first dry night last night! yay Max! I put him to bed about 7 and about 10 he woke up and cried out that he wanted to go to the toilet so I got up, took his nappy off him and let him go. Back off to bed he went and the next thing you know he’s taking himself to the bathroom at 6 this morning. I went in to make sure he was OK and gave him a hand with his nappy and it was completely dry! An 8 hour stretch was pretty good I reckon.
Does the pride in my little boy come across

One thing I have quite forgotten to mention is that Elliot had his first “solid” food yesterday! A bit of baby rice was all it was but by today, and his second crack at it, he seems to have gotten the hang of swallowing food.

Poor wee Max was doing so well until this evening! He had been in the same pair of underpants all day today and that even included going out for an hour and a half this morning too! It had got to about 18:00, Max had finished his dinner and was starting to fade (we’ve been up since 05:00, Max and I) when the first accident happened. He was standing in the family room and looked down to find himself standing in a puddle…… he was so upset about it and bawled his eyes out while I stripped his bottoms off and cleaned up the floor. We’d just finished all that and put new clothes on when he said that he’d popped (our word for farting) and then his expression changed to one of horror as he said “too late Mummy, too late” and burst into tears again. By this stage he was starting to get clumsy-tired and so it was off upstairs to bed.
All in all we are very pleased with the way things have gone and are so proud of our little man
