my boys :)

.. to my control panel to do an update so this is being sent via email.
I have a couple of pictures I want to put up as well š
In other news it was my first day back at work today and I am absolutely
knackered! In saying that I’m sure Vic is as well.
I hope everyone out there is OK – I just don’t seem to have had much PC time
over the last couple of weeks (I wonder why?
)
Max showed us two sides today….
The first was when I was downstairs, he came down to see me and said “Daddy all lined up” and grabbed my hand. He took me upstairs and proceeded to show me all the travel books that he had removed from the bookshelf and lined up for my perusal ![]()

The second was even funnier (but much harder to clean up!) Max had gone down for his afternoon nap and after about an hour I heard him bawling his eyes out for some reason. I went upstairs to find him sitting on his bed where he had obviously got himself ready for a nappy change. He’d got his changing mat, wipes, a nappy and a tub of nappy rash cream in preparation…… As you can see below he decided to have some fun with a whole tub of cream and the damn stuff was everywhere! It was all over his hands to a thickness of about a quarter of an inch, over his bed clothes, his legs, the clothes he was going to put on, you name it! I had to laugh though
Into the bath he went and plenty of washing later he was spic and span.

It wouldn’t be so bad but the damn stuff is water repellent and is proving a sod to get off everything…..
New Zealand has one of the highest rates of meningococcal disease in the world for some reason and after a spate of outbreaks over the last few years the government is innoculating every child against it.
This morning was Max’s first of three injections and he was a little trooper! He had the injection in his thigh and cried for about 5 seconds until the offered jelly beans distracted him
I can’t believe that Elliot is a week old already! The midwife came around today for another check (passed with flying colours) and a weigh in. Like Max, Elliot is not shy when it comes to eating and in a week has lost weight and then surpassed his birth weight easily. He is now 4 ounces heavier than when he was born and feeds really well. All up he seems to be a very contented child and doesn’t cause any fuss unless he’s really hungry – nice
The picture below shows Max helping with Elliot’s first bath the other day. He was very gentle and got really worried when Elliot started to cry during his bath and needed quite a bit of convincing that he wasn’t to blame and that babies just cry for no reason…..

Hi everyone!Ā I thought Iād log in and give you brief run down of the last few days……..
Vic and Elliot came home on Friday about 20 hours after the birth and got settled in over the next few hours.Ā Elliot had been very good at the hospital and Vic thought that a feed at about 20:00 would be a good idea as heād feed and go to sleep and then Vic would be able to get a couple of hours kip before the next feed…… yeah right!Ā Elliot just wanted to feed and feed and feed until about 01:30 in the morning!Ā This is normal of course as itās the constant attempts at feeding that bring milk on but itās a bloody killer all the same!
We decided that instead of telling people to wait before they came round weād have āvisiting hoursā between 15:00 and 17:00 on Sat and Sun which has worked out really well.Ā Elliot, Max and Vic have all had a sleep between about 12:30 and 14:30 both days and so have been all bright and bushy tailed for our guests ![]()
Last night followed a different pattern in that Elliot would feed for an hour then sleep for an hour and repeat.Ā Vic was up about four times during the night and as there was nothing I could do I slept so that I had the energy to look after Max during the day.Ā This has worked out well and allowed Vic to sleep for about 3.5 hours during the time that Max was up today.
So the last two days have gone by in a bit of a blur but Elliot seems to be a happy, healthy wee boy (and the Midwife confirmed that today)
Hereās a decent picture of him – does he look familiar! Have a look in the extended text for a picture of Max at a really early age.

Max

Here’s our new wee man
Elliot Jason Cramer was born today after a short labour.
According to the hospital records:
Name: Elliot Jason Cramer
Time of birth: 17:06
Weight: 3.32kg (7lb 5oz)
Labour first stage: 25 minutes
Labour second stage: 11 minutes
Labour third stage: 4 minutes
Vic didn’t muck around and we only just made it to the hospital in time (Elliot was born about 15 minutes after we arrived!)
Mother and child are doing well.

Contractions are 5.5 mins apart and over a minute long so we’d best be off….
Wish us luck!
