waiting

Vic is big, tired and strangely driven to clean until she drops 🙁 She has a week until her due date and if the baby came tomorrow she wouldn’t be unhappy….

Max, on the other hand, has discovered that when he turns our little digicam on there is a picture of him on the screen briefly.  This is his reaction when he turned the camera on for about the fifth time.

big ups!

This post was written by Marc in the category(ies) News No Comments »

For this one day I like both my landline and cellular providers!

My landline provider rang up today and said “you’ve been a great customer over the last ten years or so and we’d like to give you a free 12 month magazine subscription” WTF?!  Very cool even though all the magazines were crap.  Luckily Vic subscribes to one of the crap magazines smile and it runs out next month!  Timing couldn’t have been better Mr Telecom…..

Number two is the fact that my cellular provider must have done some work around here because my signal has gone from absolute crap (one signal bar out of five or a dropped signal) to really good (four or five out of five) This is good news when you work from home and the only number you give people is your mobile! Thanks Mr Vodafone……

here you go

This post was written by Marc in the category(ies) Max 3 Comments »

There’s not been much news of Max lately and I apologise for that.  The major change I’ve seen in him over the last month or so is his increasing ability to string words together and to come up with words that Vic and I have no idea where they come from!

For example I was making his sandwich at lunchtime today and naturally he likes to “help” He brings his little chair over so he’s at the right height and puts it on the kitchen rug.  The rug’s not flat though and the chair isn’t as stable as it should be.  After a while he looks up at me and say “Daddy chair wobble”

Now the first two words are common but he has never used the word wobble before to the knowledge of Vic or myself!  So not only did he use a brand new word but, more impressively, used it in the right context.  Amazing things kids…..

Oh, and here’s a couple of pictures:

nesting

This post was written by Marc in the category(ies) Elliot, News 1 Comment »

Sorry for the lack of updates lately, I think we’ve gone into a bit of a nesting mode before the baby comes along!  Vic’s been furiously sewing and cleaning and I’ve been sanding, staining and re-coating the cot, installing heaters in the bathroom, putting up curtain rails and such stuff smile

In other baby news we had an additional scan today.  Vic had her weekly meeting with the midwife and she was a bit concerned that baby’s measurements were the same as the previous two weeks and might meen that the baby has stopped growing.  Vic also had glucose in her urine which is a possible indicator of gestational diabetes.  If you remember we had the same thing last time. This would normally produce a larger baby (not smaller) but the scan today showed the baby to be spot on average (6lb 10oz) so all Vic needs to do now is undergo the same glucose tolerance test as last time and we’ll be sorted.

Only 2 1/2 weeks to go now……..

Luckily I still have 15kg of bacon to go… lol!
