Blimey an entry that’s all text!  It’s 10:30 at night and I’m lying in bed with my laptop and it’s the first time that I’ve had free today……. I finished work at 21:30 and that’s the earliest this week

We’re all just getting over the last cold that Max bought home from playgroup – Vic actually got this one too so that’s nice for her!  Max seems to be really enjoying his three mornings a week at playgroup and although he’s catching colds etc. I feel that he can only benefit from the interaction with the other children.

He continues to amaze me with the speed at which he picks things up.  He only needs to be shown things a few times and he’s got it sussed.  There are two things that he’s got sorted in the last week.  The first is dipping He had some chips (fries) the other day and we showed him twice how to dip them in tomato sauce. From then on at least half the mouthfuls he took he dipped into the sauce. 

The other was drinking from an open cup!  I gave him a tiny bit of water in the bottom of a beaker yesterday and although it was only a little bit he didn’t spill much at all in the 10 or so mouthfuls he took – very cool.  I’m such a proud dad

That’s me done – I’m beat and need some sleep.  Night all

Just for Jay here’s a picture of the house taken today.  The roof is 90% on and some of the windows are even in!  The more complete it looks the more exciting it is…….. the only problem is that once it is closed in we have to pay the next 65% of the value 🙁

I’ve just got back from 3 days in Auckland – the middle day to play golf at Gulf Harbour – tough life

Thanks to all those that commented or called about Max’s wee scare.  He seems to be over it now and the mark is almost gone.

And here’s the usual picture of the house – they’ve started putting the roof on!

We had such a scare with Max yesterday!

He has roman blinds in his room and we had moved his cot away from the side that has the pull string so that he wouldn’t play with it while he was in his cot.  Sensible we thought……

Yesterday we put him down for his nap and went about our business.  I was downstairs and Vic was just about to hop in the shower when she heard a funny noise from his room.  She went in and found him with a string wrapped around his neck and his eyes bulging!!!

Somehow he had got the string that was built into the blind wrapped around his neck and then he’d pulled away and tightened it around his neck.  He’d pulled it so tight that he still has a raised red mark around his neck more than 24 hours later.

Very scary and whenever I look at his neck it sends shudders down my spine thinking about how close we came to possibly losing him……..

The house now has roof trusses and is really starting to look like a house instead of a pile of wood

I am so sore (and such a pussy!) I spent the day at Mum’s place helping her paint the outside of her house and most of the 5-6 hours was spent painting above my head………

The cool thing is that Vic came for a while and bought Max.  While they were there they popped around to the local shop.  It’s only about 300 yards away so we thought that Max might like a walk We’ve bought him some little reins to keep some sort of control over him when he’s walking and he walked all the way there and back!!  He’s only 14 months old so it must have been quite a trek for his little legs
