While we are over here in NZ with Vic on maternity leave I’ve decided to look for a job. We’ve set ourselves up with flat, car and PC and I’ll start sending my CV off to agencies and getting in touch with old contacts
Fingers crossed……..
The picture above is a 10 minute walk from our flat in Island Bay, Wellington – who would want to live in central London after having a view like that on your doorstep?

I’ve been playing with getting video onto the PC and although the software built into XP seems to be pretty basic I’ve managed to cut a bit out of Max smiling
Not the best quality and you might want to turn the sound down ‘cos it’s got me being an idiot in the background
Wee video of Max. (.wmv file and 1.08MB)

Vic and I have just had another good nights sleep
Max slept from 19:30 through to 07:00 this morning! Over 11 hours! When we went to bed last night I thought we’d be up at 02:00 and Vic thought 02:30 – shows how well we can second guess Max’s sleeping habits
He’s also got to a very talkative stage in his life now and he happily gurgles away to you for what seems like ages – especially after a feed. Very cute!
On a more adult topic Vic and I have discovered “Joe Millionaire” All my friends in the States will know this TV program as it aired over there quite a while back. The idea is that the producers have this guy that they say has just inherited 50 million USD and that he is going to have a TV competition (I guess) to find a wife. We joined with 5 women to go (3 now) and the whole thing is kinda like watching a car crash – so bad but you can’t help yourself! The bitchiness is a hoot and we can’t wait until the end when the “winning” woman is told that he really is just a digger driver! We have no idea who wins so no comments letting on please

I’m really not very good at this whole blog thing at the moment – too many things to do and not enough time it seems!
I’ve finished buiding my new PC at last and also have a cable modem so I can surf at previously unkown speeds (well, 256 Kps which is all I could afford
) It’s a nice wee box which consists of a Shuttle XPC system unit, Athlon 2400+ processor, 1GB RAM, 120GB HDD, DVD/CD-RW, Canon S9000 printer and a Samsung 19” monitor. Not bad for a bit of photoshop work
Speaking of Photoshop (a very tenous link here) I took a couple of shots of Max and Vic last night. It was getting a bit cold so we thought we’d put Max in a snow suit that we bought before he was born. He was so darn cute!

Yee ha! Back online at home and loving it.
News? Very little actually. Max is sleeping for anything between 7 and 11 hours a night at the moment. Sometimes he’ll drop off at about 8pm and be up at 4 so while he’s getting a good nights sleep we don’t 🙁 I’m not complaining though – we have friends who had a girl the same day as we had Max and they are still getting up every two hours!
Anyway, loads to do so I’m off but I’ll drop by your part the world soon for a catch up

I have had no easy access to a PC for last couple of days and this will continue for at least the next week. This means that updates will be infrequent and that emails will remain unanswered 🙁
We aplogise for any inconvenience this may cause……

Excellent! another http://www.digitalphotocontest.com daily winner. This time in the animals category of all things
As for the stupidity – I was driving through town today and some idiot just pulled straight into my lane! Now I can handle it when stuff like this happens, after all I have been driving in London for that last five years. What really pissed me off is that there were two people in the front of this car and the driver was driving with a dog in his lap! This wasn’t some small lap dog either – oh no – this dog was big enough to see over the steering wheel! What an idiot……..

The good one – I won $327 on the lottery! I never check my tickets as I like the tension of just handing it over and seeing what sound the terminal makes. It’s usually the depressing little beep that signifies that, once again, the odds have beaten you. This time however it was the joyous noise of the terminal printer printing out a winners receipt. Not only that but I looked down and saw 3..2..7 on the display! My first thought was “how can you win three dollars twenty seven?” and then it clicked! Yee ha
The bad one – Winter is here 🙁 Rain, southerlies (bad in the southern hemisphere) and a high of about 13?C Jay and Larry’s place was built around the turn of the last century and has big rooms with high studs. Looks great but a bugger to heat
Just have to worry about Max’s room really as us big’uns can regulate our body temperature a bit better.
