Another mirrorproject entry. This is a reflection of me in the eye of Pete and Brenda’s cat Tilly. For a cat that doesn’t really like people she let me get close!

It’s midnight and I have just got in from taking photo’s for the last 5 hours! I shot Trafalgar Square, The Houses of Parliament and the London Eye. It was a long time to spend taking just 30 shots 🙁
It was also my first night shoot with my Bronica and I really had no idea how to meter using my hand held meter at night. Plus I had to think about reciprocity correction as well! I shot various shutter speeds from 15 secs to 4 minutes and I’ll be happy if just one shot turns out OK.
We’ll see………………

At last I got my second lot of slides back – and they are crap 🙁 For a while they couldn’t find them and I was just ready to give them a right bollocking when they looked where they shouldn’t have been and found them………..
This is about the only one I like – It’s of Westminster Abbey reflected in the bonnet (hood) of a car parked outside.

My first day between jobs was very relaxing thank you very much
I had lunch with Vic and Claire then went and picked up the first of two slide films I had developed and scanned. The slides are really nice and sharp but the scans are absolute crap 🙁 (I really should buy a scanner)
There were a couple that I took specifically for The Mirror Project – click on the “But wait…..” link if you want to have a look

I just had a delivery by the postman. I won a roll of film after entering a contest in a magazine a few months ago (just a “write and get lucky” one) – 1 whole roll of Kodak T400CN. It’s a B&W film that can be machine processed in the standard shop machines – Great stuff (although it sometimes comes out with a colour cast)
Click on the “But wait……” link to see what it looked like after braving the meat-grinder that is our postal system!

Damn it’s hot! It was 30/86 at 09:00 this morning……….
Well, I got my films from Brighton back and they’re not toooo bad………. I’m even going to get a couple of prints done! :vbg: This is the first time I’ve got prints done in about 20 films so I’m pretty happy.
The really stupid thing is I thought that the film I bought for the trip (Fuji Provia) was a negative film but it wasn’t it, was a transparency film! Transparency film is much more sensitive to exposure errors and if you are more than about ? a stop out you’re pretty much screwed (negative film you can sometimes get away with 2 stops either way) The whole point of not shooting my normal outdoors film, Fuji Velvia was that I wanted the latitude that a negative film would give me. Thinking that I was shooting neg film I was a little less exact in my metering and unfortunately paid the price as few of my shots are a tad underexposed 🙁
Oh well……….
