weekend

This post was written by Marc in the category(ies) News 1 Comment »

A first for us this weekend – this morning we were up and showered before Max even woke up!  We went out last night (leaving Max with Vic’s Mum) for Ali’s 30th birthday party which was great fun. It was, of course, even better due to the fact that the AB’s beat Oz by a record score of 52-21!!!!  We got home and got Max up to give him a decent feed and eventually got to bed about 02:00 wink We were up at 08:00 and were ready to go before Max stirred! It really was a strange way to start the day I can tell you!

I also had a wee photo shoot with Max yesterday and have posted 5 new images to the image database. Here’s one of them:

meat

Max joined the world of omnivores today and had his first taste of meat!  Pureed chicken and kumara was on the menu for lunch and dispatched with gusto smile Not only was it his first meat but also the first food with any real texture and didn’t worry him in the least.

I think think is where his shit really starts to stink………….

PS: My interview at the agency the other day went really well and the client wants to set up a phone interview – yay!  I’m not getting my hopes up as the requirements and my skillset don’t match up exactly but, hey, this is two steps further than I’ve got before wink

so sleepy

Max had his first “I’m so tired I could just keel over where I am” moment today smile He was sitting up in his cot and Vic went to get a cloth to wipe his hands (he’d just been a tiny bit sick) and when she came back he was fast asleep like this! LOL!

interview

This post was written by Marc in the category(ies) News 3 Comments »

I think my interview/meeting went pretty well yesterday.

I seem to be a good fit for the role from a skills perspective and the agency seems to agree. They put my CV forward to the client last night and I should hear if I have a phone interview by the end of the week.

This is the furthest I’ve got in 4 months so fingers crossed wink

another week

picWell it’s another Monday and the only difference is there are more spaces in the car parking building that I park to when I go into town wink

I’m off to see an agency tomorrow about a job. The role might be suitable – they told me the client’s name so at least it’s a real role! It’s also an excuse to see if my suit still fits………

I’ve also added another couple of pictures to my 26 things website – only 20 to go in 9 days 🙁

at last

After trying four I have at last found an IE “upgrade” that does what I want it to.  I’ve been looking for the ability to have tabbed browsing within IE for a while and all the other programs I’ve tried have done various strange things, mostly with popups. When most blogs have popup comment windows this can be a problem!

Avantbrowser seems to do everything properly smile If you’re an IE user (and 79.9% of you are according to my webstats) you should at least have a look at it.

PS: Yes, I use Opera and Mozilla as well, but IE is my main browser smile

friday

Not a good day today.  First of all not having a job is starting to get to me. I woke up this morning feeling pretty shitty about it actually. Luckily I had a day out taking photos with my friend Jay to look forward to.

That is until he cancelled at about 10:30…….. “no worries” I thought, “I’ll just nip out on my own” It’s a nice day today but after 3 hours and about 10 crap pics later I came to the conclusion that my head just wasn’t in it so I should give up and have some lunch.  Malaysian was what I felt like and so I found a small restaurant, sat down, ordered mee goreng, and pulled out my Clie to read a book.  Hmmm – no books in the list…….the 128MB memorystick was missing! After walking around for 2 hours there really was no point in back-tracking to find it so I gave up on it 🙁

I drove home in an absolutely foul mood and of course every idiot was out on the roads just to piss me off!  When I got home though I thought I’d hunt through the car and see if the MS had popped out while it was on the passenger seat.  Lo and behold it had come out of my clie, gone though the seat, onto the floor in the rear of the car and ended up under Max’s car seat base legs.

Whilst not in quite as bad a mood as an hour ago I still wouldn’t cross me…………..

Oh and here’s the one even vaguely decent shot I took 🙁
