Tuesday night at 20:30 and I’m knackered – what a lightweight! Off to bed for a bit of Harry Potter 6 I think…..

On Saturday we bought Max and Elliot an inexpensive scotch chest each and they were delivered today. We then spent 30 minutes with Max changing his room around so that they would fit and it meant that when he went to bed nothing was as it was the night before…….
He wasn’t tooooo bad going to bed but it took him about an hour to drop off to sleep and it will be interesting to see how the night goes
Max has a new word……. why?
Oh joy the first of many years full of “why?” ![]()
It’s been a week of vomit this week – yay
A virus (possibly the one that I had in Sydney) has done the rounds, thankfully missing Vic out.
Max started it off earlier in the week with horrible diarrhoea and generally feeling crook. I got him out of bed Wednesday morning and he’d exploded out of his nappy and all through his bed – that was fun to clean up at 05:45 in the morning! I think he was more upset about it than me though. His one and only vomit was on Thursday and luckily I had a feeling it was going to happen and managed to get a bowl
This was after he’d woken up at about 22:00 saying “me sore tummy” and wanting to have a cracker to eat. After that he seemed to perk up a bit which was just in time for it to hit Elliot.
Elliot had it hit him slightly differently in that he’s been vomiting a lot more (and with no warning) but has been shitting a lot less. Fri/Sat/Sun he bought up the entire contents of his stomach about twice a day and usually after a really heavy feed to give him some ammo
He hasn’t thrown up today so fingers crossed……..
Other than that things are well.
Well I got back home on Friday and haven’t stopped since!
Sydney was OK. I got a bout of food poisoning on the plane (probably before) and spent the next 15 hours shitting, shaking and sweating! The fever broke about five in the morning and so I started my presentation skills course with a five minute videotaped presentation and 90 minutes sleep…. yay
After five days I got home and, man, what a change in Elliot. His whole face seemed to have changed shape. Now I see what my mother means when she only sees him once a week.
In kiddy news Max and Elliot had their first bath together on Saturday night. Max was absolutely fantastic with Elliot and spent most of the time pouring water over him out of a bottle. Here they are….

Just some shots that Vic took.

Up until now Max has had longish, very fine hair but no longer! We went out and bought him his own clippers yesterday and gave him a number 4 cut this morning. At times he looks so old now!
Two years and four months! He looks so much older in this shot (at least to me!)

Man time flies!
What is there to say? Everyone here is well and we’re all pretty healthy. Vic and I have good days and bad days when it comes to being tired but we manage to catch ourselves before we get too stroppy
Since his birth Elliot has put on just under a kilo (2.2 lbs) and we are pretty happy with that. All in all he’s a good wee man and in the last week has started sleeping in two lots of 3-4 hours during the night so Vic gets a pretty good sleep for the most part. This is just as well as work has been really busy and I’ve been out all day (almost like a real job!)
We also buried Elliot’s placenta in the garden in the weekend and planted a Camellia tree over it. This is a Maori tradition that Vic thought would be nice to do. The tree will certainly hold a special place in our hearts.
There are no new pictures of Elliot (plus he’s gone all spotty!) but there are three cute ones of Max in the extended entry……
