Max had his first visit to the beach today. Loved the sand – hated the water

Max took his first proper steps a few minutes ago!!!!!
He’s been taking a couple when moving from one piece of furniture to another for the last week or so but this was about 8 steps over a couple of yards. He even took four steps, stopped and looked back at me, and then carried on towards Vic.
11 months old to the day
So cool !!!!!
As promised there are a couple of photo’s of Max at the party last weekend (3 to be exact) Here’s one of them

It’s great fun watching Max grow up
Now that he’s crawling all over the place and standing up at every opportunity it’s taking a toll on his body. His little knees are red and rough from all the crawling. They’re also bruised from the sometimes unexpected transition from feet to knees
He also had his first bleeding wound the other day (he’s bled before but we never figured out where the blood on the cream coloured dog in his cot came from!) He was at his Nana’s place and was standing at the coffee table when all of a sudden his knees gave out and he smacked his mouth on the edge of the table on the way down. One split lip and loads of tears later he had his first purple heart!
I had taken Vic’s Mum to an appointment and came home to find blood on Vic’s white t-shirt and Max’s bib!!
Vic and Max are home – yay!!
In the last couple of days three things have happened in Max’s life:
? While Vic was checking the temperature of his bath he pulled himself up, promptly lost his footing and smacked his cheek on the side of the bath. Much crying ensued (Max and Vic) although all was forgotten as soon as his bum hit the water
He now has his first decent bruise from what looks like a short left hook 😮
? His 6th tooth came through. He has the cutest toothy grin!
? The BIG news is that he has started to crawl forwards! It’s amazing that since he started yesterday he has improved to the point where he can easily go from one end of the room to the other in no time flat. We’re really going to have to keep an eye on him now………..
I know, I know, another Max related entry………
I’m at home with the wee mite at the mo while Vic’s out shopping with a friend. He’s fast asleep after taking a whole bottle of formula! Yep 230ml/9oz all in one go and without spilling/spitting out a drop!
We’ve been using a different teat for a couple of weeks now and can usually get his afternoon feed down him with a bit of a struggle and over an hour or so . This time though it was all relaxed concentration on his part and away we went. Much yayness!
Might not mean much to anyone else but it hopefully it will make Vic feel that she can get out and spend a bit more time on herself without worrying that Max’ll go hungry/thirsty.
We’ve put another four photos of Max up in his album. There’s a really cute one of him spread-eagled in his towel
that we scanned from a film we’ve just had developed.
Here’s one for my Mother who says there aren’t any of him showing off his teeth
