it’s just after seven a.m.
i’ve been up for almost an hour (on a sunday!!) and all the roads around here are closed due to the london marathon which passes a block away from our front door
the weather’s nice
can i be bothered going to see the hoards stream past? i dunno….. i’ve lived here for four years now and have always watched the runners run past my building on the t.v. whilst tucked up in bed with vic

the super six went out for dinner last nite to turkish restaurant called tas. time out had this to say about it:
This airy, glass-fronted restaurant offers Turkish food with a twist, rather than the standard classic dishes. Expect the likes of mussel soup with coriander and ginger, and inventive seafood and casseroles.
which to be honest pretty much sums it up. the food was very nice but, as usual, i ate far too much. i blame the bread…… they put out this yummy bread which you promptly dip into the exquisite light hummus (which seems like a fantastic idea after the two pints of boddingtons at =”http://www.georgeinn-southwark.co.uk/” target=”_blank]the george[/url] prior to dinner) and you think that’s it – but no – they bring more bread, and keep bringing bread throughout the entire meal! by the time we’d had a few bottles of wine and caught the bus home i was beyond the point of being full and into the point of pain………..
do you ever have that feeling where you are so bloated that you just want some gigantic version of your mother to put you over their shoulder and burp you?
no? must just be me then.

i just cut my hair today and was trying to figure out how short it is.
i use wahl rechargable clippers – they come with combs of various types to control the amount of hair that remains on ones head – i, however, do not use these combs………
the number 1 comb (shortest) leaves 1/8th of an inch (3mm) of hair. the way i figure it is by cutting with the bare metal my hair is somewhere between 1/30th and 1/15th of an inch long just after cutting.
short would be a good word to describe it i guess.

saw one of the strangest movies last night – nurse betty – starring morgan freeman, =”http://us.imdb.com/Name?Zellweger,+Ren%E9e” target=”_blank]renee zellweger [/url]and chris rock
basically the plot is: soap opera addicted woman sees cheating, sleaze-ball, car salesman husband scalped then killed. freaked out woman has psychotic episode……. sod it! read the synopsis here
anyway it’s weird movie that i really wanted to end ‘cos it was confusing/embarrassing me – you know when you almost can’t watch something ‘cos you’re SO embarrased for the person?….. hmm, maybe you don’t :zoink:

happy easter everyone. vic and i had a great time in york and although the first look at the pictures I took confirm that they are indeed crap i will post a few over the next few days anyway.
the UK is all in a tizz about the death of the queen mother. it’s interesting that in general people seem to see her as a favourite great aunt or some such thing. a shame to see her go but what an innings!
got a new tv today – didn’t work – taking it back………
tired from the drive back – made great time (3.5 hours door to door) but travelling at 90 mph surrounded by cars and trucks doing anything from 50-120mph takes it out of me.
PS: I hate caravans

well, the third attempt at an upgrade worked – a big thanks to the people at the movabletype support forums. it was all due to an errant letter “T” in the main cgi script. you won’t see much of a difference but the entry and maintenance systems have been completely revamped.
on the tv front i managed to get the 14” tv from the bedroom to work with sky – yay! it looks very silly though sitting on a cabinet designed for a 28” system but i just have to sit closer.
i’m slowly coming to grip with CSS and may try a redesign of the main page after easter – we’ll see how that goes
