As you can see its been a quiet week in Cramerland

.. or lack of it.
I can’t seem to find any time to work on my photoblog and yes I know it looks like crap, I’ve just started!
I really need to get my head around exactly how I want to look and act like. Oh well, maybe over xmas…..
I generally seem to have a lack of time at the moment. Here’s a normal day:
06:30 Alarm goes off
07:00 Eventually get my ass out of bed (usually after having a wee chat with Fidget and cuddle with Vic
07:30 Leave the house
09:00 Get to work 🙁
17:30 Leave work
19:00 Get home
20:00 Start dinner
21:00 Finish dinner
After all that I’m knackered and really can’t be arsed doing anything more than chilling out.
Or maybe I just feel that way ‘cos my throat’s getting really sore and I’m getting stuck playing Splinter Cell on my x-box! lol!

My life isn’t terrible exciting at the moment but luckily other people’s are! Here’s a few things that have amused/shocked/saddened me over the last few days:
In London, 32.5% of all conceptions were terminated by an abortion, compared with a low of 19.1% in the east. link That’s a third of all conceptions! I would have guessed 1 in 10 and Claire thought one in twenty. Equally interesting was the fact 19.1% was the low! Although I’m pro-choice by nature this figure astounds me. It reminds me of a story that I saw a few years ago about Russian women using abortions as a means of contraception – some of them had gone through the procedure 7 or 8 times.
This story amused me. Basically the story goes like this – a large car carrying ship hits another ship in the English Channel and sinks. The channel is not particularly deep at this spot so the extremely big partially sunken ship (carrying ?30M worth of cars) is half out the water and painted bright orange. Two days later another ship is cruising along and smacks right into it, gets stuck and has to be towed off! What a hoot
A few weather facts for the lovely city I live in. 1) In the first 15 days of December London had 16 hours of sun. Yep, that’s just over an hour of sun a day. 2) For the 7 days before the 15th London had NO sunshine whatsoever. That’s right, not a single minute of sunshine! Now you can see why they say winters in London are grey……..

These are (supposedly) actual lines used in English papers by GSCE students (16 years old) in the UK. Even if they are not real the are still very funny
Her face was a perfect oval, like a circle that had its two other sides gently compressed by a Thigh Master.
His thoughts tumbled in his head, making and breaking alliances like underpants in a tumble dryer.
She caught your eye like one of those pointy hook latches that used to dangle from doors and would fly up whenever you banged the door open again.

Well it’s the end of another week and I find myself at the PC early on Saturday morning surfing blogland and watching England get absolutely dicked by Oz in the cricket (again!)
I have discovered something within myself this week – an incredibly powerful fear of anything happening to Vic or Fidget!
I was driving home from a meeting in Coventry yesterday listening to talkback radio on BBC Five Live and they were discussing miscarriage and the reaction that western society, the health profession and individuals have to it. As women (and men) were discussing their experiences I found myself experiencing a mixture of quite powerful emotions. These ran from terrible sadness at the loss that these people had suffered through to sheer panic that something should happen to Vic or Fidget.
I was talking to my Mum in NZ this morning about it and she was saying that I have been more emotional about having this baby that anything before in my life. Those people that have known me for a while will know that I’m not a particularly emotional person so this has come as a bit of a pleasant? surprise.
I guess that as most new parents do I’ve entered a new emotional phase in my life.

It’s 17:15 on Thursday night and I’ve just checked into the Moathouse Hotel in Stoke. I had a call from one of our salespeople at about 18:00 last night to see if I could be at a meeting up here at 09:30 tomorrow morning. As I already had a meeting this afternoon over half the way here I said the only way I could make it in time was if I stayed up here overnight. Given such short notice Vic was very understanding
I’ll miss Vic and playing with Fidget before going to sleep though 🙁 For a while the baby has been reacting to prods and Vic sits there playing with him/her :vbg: Way cool!

The PC rebuild is going slowly. I’ve discovered that my modem isn’t supported under XP! As far as I can tell the only reason it worked so far is that I had it installed under Win2k and it kept the driver after the upgrade. I’m doing this from work (shhhhhh!) and so I’ll have a look for a driver from here. It certainly is strange not having web access at home!
Wanna see how big Vic’s getting? Here you go. I think she looks lovely

Bugger! 🙁
One of the reasons for no recent posts is the fact that I’m rebuilding my PC after getting my first virus (the other is having nothing interesting happening) so I would like to preemptively apologise to anyone that has received an email from me with a screen-saver of some sort attached don’t open it! It creates all sorts of weird .dll files that are full of your email addresses and stops your anti-virus s/w working………
It’s a bugger as well because I need to work on a couple of pictures for the next photo club competition. You might remember that I came first and second in my first comp which was a bit embarrassing :emb: Luckily (?) there is no way that this will happen this time – the shots I’m going to use are not really up to scratch but I’m going to enter them just to get them critiqued by a pro.
