made it

It’s the end of my first day back at work and I am absolutely knackered! It was really busy at work with 2 weeks worth of catching up to do and although I didn’t get up last night (thanks Vic) it was midnight before we got to sleep and I was woken two or three times. Poor Vic looked shattered when I got home and has just woken up from a 2 hour nap so I’m off to make dinner. Bit of a bugger that we won’t eat until 10 but as I had no lunch, later is better than never!

And a big event in Max’s life today – the remains of his umbilical cord fell off. He now has a belly button!

another day

Three days since the last update and to be honest not a lot has happened. I have put another 4 pictures in the image database but that’s about it. We’re both absolutely knackered for the most part and just taking things day by day……

I’m back to work on Monday and am feeling pretty ambiguous about it.  Although it’ll be nice to get back and be busy I’ll miss/worry about Vic and Max. Vic really needs to get more sleep and hopefully without me there she’ll nap during the day some more.

That’s about it for now, Max has just woken up so it’s another round of feeding and changing……..

the family

Max is a real porker! The midwife came around today and weighed him – 8lb 2oz, that’s six ounces in 4 days!

We’re having a good day today though. Vic and I are feeling OK, probably due to us going to bed at 17:30 yesterday – lol!

And for the grandparents especially here’s our first family shot smile

Marc, Vic and Max (and yes I have put weight on wink)

stupid

It took me 9 hours to find my wallet yesterday!

We went to see David and Claire on Sunday and if you had put me up in court and said “did you take your wallet to David and Claire’s flat?” I would have yes straight away and without a hint of doubt.

After 9 hours of hunting high and low I found my wallet in my camera bag of all places. As I can’t remember opening my camera bag at all yesterday then it must have been put in there before going to Davids. If you’d asked “did you put your wallet in your camera bag AT ALL?” I would have said “hell no!”

So there are two options – 1) I took my wallet to D&C’s and then put it in my camera bag after that and don’t remember it…. or 2) My wallet was in my camera bag before we left the house and I didn’t take it anywhere.

Either way I am losing the plot!

Just a quick note to let you know that all the images of Max are now in my new photo database. In due course all the images on my photography pages will be transferred as well.

People who register in the database (sorry but it’s additional to the weblog registration) will be able to download the images and set up their own favourites section but to view, comment etc you don’t need to. It’s a bit boring to look at at the moment but I’ll be customising it at some stage.

day out

max Max had his first trip out into the big wide world today! It wasn’t far, just down to David and Claire’s, but at fifteen minutes it was as far as he’s been since he got home.

It was also the first test of his buggy and our ability to plan for the things we need to take when we go out. As it was we managed to get there and back and successfully complete two feeds and one change whilst out and at the age that Max is at the moment that’s pretty much his life in a nutshell smile It’s also made us more confidant in our ability to get out and about with Max. Sure it doesn’t sound like much, and a month ago I would have thought “big deal”, but all of these firsts are exciting and challenging for us as I’m sure they are for any first time parent.

All in all the last 24 hours have been pretty good and fairly uneventful. I can’t believe that Max’ll be a week old tomorrow!
