my old man is ok
it seems he took himself to hosptial late on sunday night with a recurrence of an old problem – chest pains and falling asleep at the drop of a hat.
he’ll be in hospital for a few days and they are thinning his blood with a drug that is a derivative of rat poison (nice!)
so he’s just as unhealthy as he was before but at least no worse……….
MONDAY MISSION 2.17
1. When was the last time you pampered yourself? I honestly can’t remember 🙁 Sad maybe but it’s true….
2. When was the last time someone pampered you? Hmmm, let me think…………..
3. Describe the last time you recall really feeling loved (other than from children or pets). Yesterday – Vic and I looked at each other at exactly the same time and could tell that we were just looking becaused we loved the other person. No words – just a look.
4. Has your use of the computer ever caused any arguments? What’s the story there? Yep – often about Vic thinking I spend too much time with digital photo’s, website designing, surfing…….
5. What’s the most embarrassing thing your Mom ever did? Got hammered at a family party and danced around the lounge in her slip :emb:
6. I’ve met some adults who’ve never learned to swim, and others who never learned how to ride a bike.. Is there anything that you never learned as a child that you probably should have? Swim properly – I can swim but would like to feel comfortable in the water.
7. Someone once said, a picture is worth a thousand words. Post an image that says more than words. Or instead, describe a picture you recall which touched your heart. I really wouldn’t know where to start. Most conflicts or disasters throw up amazing images – Auswitz, Oklahoma, WTC, Vietnam you name it. The world of photojournalism is littered with iconic images that amaze, confuse, disgust, amuse, depress and give hope.

hmmm… had a call from my ex-step-mother (it gets complicated) asking if i knew anything about my father being taken into hospital with heart problems!
no – i said, news to me (note: she lives here in the uk, my father lives in new zealand, about as far away as you can get) so i said i would chase it up and let her know if i heard anything. (note2: this was at 23:00 gmt on sunday – 10:00 monday nzt)
so i tried calling my brother only to find that the number has been disconnected! damn!! at this stage i thought that maybe the number in my palmVx is wrong so call my mother (also in NZ) to confirm the number. she informs me that my brother moved this weekend and has no landline yet – double damn!!
aha, i think – cellphone! try my brothers cellphone and it’s not bloody well turned on…………….leave a message (phew)
another idea – call my brother’s wife’s cellphone – another call to my mother gets me this number and at last i can speak to someone that at least cares about my dad to some degree.
no-one knows anything!
so after all that i leave it in Selena’s hands and am off to bed to await a call back at some stage…………….

i doubt if anyone that reads this has used them but it also means that i’m not being notified of comments *grrrrrrrr*
hopefully they are cached somewhere and will be sent once my host fixes whatever problems they having……….
20:00 UPDATE: nexpoint were having MAJOR probs for the last two days but have sorted it out. emails are slowly filtering thru – YAY!!
we are so bloody lazy!
yesterday we had the day planned out:
1) Go to the National Portrait Gallery which has some amazing portraits by Mario Testino on display at the moment (Diana, Madonna you name it) – didn’t go due to heavy rain
2) Go to dinner and then on to see Man and Boy at the cinema – didn’t happen due to big lunch and falling asleep on the couch!
bang – saturday gone 🙁
i did not leave the house all day!
we live in one of the most interesting cities in the world – such a mundane and wasted day is inexcusable………………..
OK – this is it for a while 
this look and feel, whilst not being for everyone, links in with the rest of my website (that is the side to do with photography) i might change the comments and archive sections – and i might not………
at least this was the easiest change so far :vbg:
well it’s just after 23:15 and vic and i have just got home from the local pub (ship and whale) after a great evening with david, claire, richi and fi. mucho californian sav blanc and not bad food
