We had a great time last night for Vic’s 30th birthday Our friends Jay and Larry were nice enough to let us have a get together at their place. It was kept exclusive with Jay and Larry, me and Vic, Max, Ali and Al and their kids Abbey (14 months) and Jack (almost 3) attending.
Sushi, antipasto, pizza, birthday cake and chocolate fondue were on the menu and between the 6 adults and 3 kids we had a great time

Thanks to Tom for what might quite possibly be the dullest blog in the world!
The thing is it’s a great read! It reminds me a lot of Viz’s top tips.
It seems that I may have a job! After 4 interviews and two reference checks they made me an offer yesterday. After a bit of negotiation (more money ) they made another offer today and I accepted! This is, of course, conditional on receiving a written job offer and finding the terms and conditions acceptable.
If all goes well I will start my Systems Consultant role at Dell on Monday week.
Vic and Max are home – yay!!
In the last couple of days three things have happened in Max’s life:
? While Vic was checking the temperature of his bath he pulled himself up, promptly lost his footing and smacked his cheek on the side of the bath. Much crying ensued (Max and Vic) although all was forgotten as soon as his bum hit the water He now has his first decent bruise from what looks like a short left hook 😮
? His 6th tooth came through. He has the cutest toothy grin!
? The BIG news is that he has started to crawl forwards! It’s amazing that since he started yesterday he has improved to the point where he can easily go from one end of the room to the other in no time flat. We’re really going to have to keep an eye on him now………..
I’ve finished my connect8 project!
I planned the layout and picture sizes on a 1280×1024 screen and it looks a bit cramped at 1024×768
Well it’s Saturday and I’m sitting at home all alone and damn it’s quiet. Vic and Max are away for 4 days looking after Vic’s Mum after her second carpal tunnel operation. I miss them 🙁 Here’s what I want to mention:
? Happy 40th birthday to Deb
? The neighbours upstairs had a party last night. The loud music until 1am wasn’t so bad – it was the yahooing at the side of the building and the fact that some bastard threw up on my car that pissed me off!!! I was glad that Max and Vic were away………
? I seem to be getting closer to having a job (touch wood and fingers crossed) Employer #1 and I have now had four interviews and they have checked my references in the UK. We shall see………
anyway, have a nice weekend y’all
Postcards. Usually pictures of places with enough room on the back for one slightly expanded thought.
Jen was bemoaning the fact that people don’t write to each other much any more. Of course I took this to heart and after an exchange of postal addresses there was a postcard from li’l old NZ winging it’s way to Boston and one from Boston (showing Beacon Hill) making it’s merry way over here.
I thought this was great and so when Lor said that she was moving from the US to London I thought it would be nice for her to have a wee surprise waiting for her when she got there She had sent out her address quite some time before she moved and so a week or so before she flew out I sent off a postcard. Lo and behold it was waiting for her when she got to her new apartment in her new country
So my question is – anyone else want a postcard from the South Pacific? If so, drop me an email (marc(at)marcandvic(dot)com) with your postal address and we’ll see what we can do.
