house/sars!

This post was written by Marc in the category(ies) News 2 Comments »

We’ll it looks like our second offer on the house has been accepted!  Our first offer was rejected outright, which I thought it would be, so we reworked the additions to the specification that we had and made another offer this morning.  The agent rang this morning and said that the developer had accepted and signed and that we should be able to sign this afternoon…… fingers crossed smile

In other news I saw this in the supermarket a few days ago and luckily I had my phone with me! Any one for a deadly drink?

happy new year!

I know I promised a proper update but hey…….

Let’s just say that Xmas was crazy smile Max was spoilt rotten (but not by us) but didn’t really understand what was going on.  We spent a couple of nights away at friends and family and all up it was a really enjoyable time.

The new year came in with something in between a bang and a whimper. We spent it at Jay and Larry’s whilst Max stayed with his Nana. Many, many cocktails were consumed and the sleep in the next morning was appreciated wink

When I look back at the last year I find at hard to believe just how much my life has changed. Max arriving, moving back to NZ and being back with family has all combined to make my situation so completely different that sometimes I find it hard to remember what it was like pre-Max

I wouldn’t change it for the world and all I can do is hope that 2004 is half as exciting and challenging as 2003 was!

This year we sent off a picture that I had taken of us with our Christmas cards.  The top one is the one we used – the second was about 20 seconds later – LOL!

There’s not much to say except that Vic, Max and I wish you and yours a very Merry Christmas and a happy and safe New Year.

This year has been one of huge change for Vic and I with the birth of Max, a change of country and a new job for me all within this calendar year.

All I can do is hope that your year has been as exciting, fulfilling, challenging and awe inspiring as mine.

MERRY CHRISTMAS

Well, I’ve made it back from Sydney in one piece smile The week there was OK at best – training’s never that exciting and it was getting a bit warm for my liking at 37C/99F. Phew!  What topped the week off beautifully though was the three and a half hours that it took me to check in for my return flight! The check-in system had gone down and so they had to do the process manually so you can imagine what a nightmare it was. The really bizarre thing though was the woman next to me in the queue was an old flatmate from about 15 years ago!

Two Max related things have also happened in the last week.

? He is now walking as much as he is crawling. I can’t believe the change in a week and he’s even got to the stage where he can toddle along and carry quite large objects. Good on ya Max smile

? On Friday he had his first major fall – all the way down the stairs from upstairs to the lounge (13 steps)!  He only stopped when he hit the kiddie gate at the bottom……. Luckily he was OK and Vic (after much wailing from both of them) took him straight to the doctors to have him checked out.  A bump on the head and a bit of blood from the mouth were all he had to show for it.  You can imagine what I was like when Vic called me in Sydney to tell me……….

21 hours

I have just got back from Auckland after a 3 day work trip and have a whole 21 hours at home before leaving on a week long trip to Sydney…….. such a jetsetter wink

Last night though, was our company xmas party and work flew Vic up to Auckland for it.  It was her first night away from Max and she coped admirably. She didn’t even call home to check up! We only have 6 staff in NZ so it was a fairly quiet affair which was just as well as the night before we’d had our customer chrissie function.  I had about 20 glasses of Bollinger and staggered back to hotel room at 02:00……… I felt surprisingly good when I got up and after a couple of Panadol was ready to face the day smile
