we can rebuild him

All I can say is thank God for dental anaesthetic smile My dentist removed the section of tooth that had partially sheared off, took moulds and built me a temporary crown to see me through until the gold crown is ready (it’s way at the back so won’t be seen) I must admit though, it’s very disconcerting having your teeth drilled and smelling burning! 🙁

It’s been 4 hours and the pain is just starting to kick in – now where was that paracetamol….?

getting there

Max and I are slowly getting better and thanks for the thoughts everyone smile My fever has broken (it’s always nice waking up in a pool of sweat!) and now it’s just a clogged head and snuffly nose.  Of course I’m speaking just for me as Max has no way of telling us exactly what’s happening to him – just from the noises he’s making he seems to be following the same route as his Dad though.

On the job front I’m off to a meeting with one of the agencies in town this morning. It’s tough being out of bed by nine never mind out of the house! Unfortunately the job market seems pretty depressed in my area of IT at the moment so I’ll have to put some thought into whether I have any other skills that I can call upon………

Max and I have our first joint cold but I think he’s handling it better than me 🙁 wink I noticed yesterday that I had a sore throat and that Max was coughing in a strange, dry way. Yep, our first cold of the season – not bad yet but give it a few days………..

Poor wee man must have no idea what’s going on, just that he’s not feeling right and the only way he knows hows how to deal with it is to be grumbly all day – I have no excuse as I know whats going on so I can’t be all stroppy!

Here in NZ (and Australia) it’s ANZAC day – the day that we remember our war dead.

While we are over here in NZ with Vic on maternity leave I’ve decided to look for a job. We’ve set ourselves up with flat, car and PC and I’ll start sending my CV off to agencies and getting in touch with old contacts smile Fingers crossed……..

The picture above is a 10 minute walk from our flat in Island Bay, Wellington – who would want to live in central London after having a view like that on your doorstep? wink

not bad

Vic and I have just had another good nights sleep smile Max slept from 19:30 through to 07:00 this morning! Over 11 hours! When we went to bed last night I thought we’d be up at 02:00 and Vic thought 02:30 – shows how well we can second guess Max’s sleeping habits wink He’s also got to a very talkative stage in his life now and he happily gurgles away to you for what seems like ages – especially after a feed. Very cute!

On a more adult topic Vic and I have discovered “Joe Millionaire” All my friends in the States will know this TV program as it aired over there quite a while back. The idea is that the producers have this guy that they say has just inherited 50 million USD and that he is going to have a TV competition (I guess) to find a wife. We joined with 5 women to go (3 now) and the whole thing is kinda like watching a car crash – so bad but you can’t help yourself! The bitchiness is a hoot and we can’t wait until the end when the “winning” woman is told that he really is just a digger driver!  We have no idea who wins so no comments letting on please smile

hello stranger

I’m really not very good at this whole blog thing at the moment – too many things to do and not enough time it seems!

I’ve finished buiding my new PC at last and also have a cable modem so I can surf at previously unkown speeds (well, 256 Kps which is all I could afford wink) It’s a nice wee box which consists of a Shuttle XPC system unit, Athlon 2400+ processor, 1GB RAM, 120GB HDD, DVD/CD-RW, Canon S9000 printer and a Samsung 19” monitor.  Not bad for a bit of photoshop work smile

Speaking of Photoshop (a very tenous link here) I took a couple of shots of Max and Vic last night. It was getting a bit cold so we thought we’d put Max in a snow suit that we bought before he was born. He was so darn cute!
