Our 20 week scan is out of the way and I’m pleased to say that everything seems to be OK
We had to arrange another scan for 32 weeks as the placenta was slightly low but this isn’t really a problem – the scan’s just to see how it’s positioned at a later date.
I won’t bother putting a scan of the scan up as it’s not that good and you can’t really see what it is 🙁
PS: If you want to know the sex the baby is then email me – I’m not going to put it here as there are a few family members and friends that don’t want to know.

I know I said I would do an update of the weekend but I can’t be arsed – it wasn’t that interesting to anyone that wasn’t there. Here’s a brief synopsis:
Drove 4? hours to Bristol on Friday night – had dinner, got pissed, Janet (mother-in-law) threw up twice, Peter knocked the TV over and can’t remember anything after dessert
Spent two days there enjoying the company of nice people then drove back. As mentioned in the previous post there are some pictures here.
The important news of today though is I FELT OUR BABY MOVE FOR THE FIRST TIME !!!! :vbg: I am so very, very excited – hee hee………….. We have our second scan (20 weeks) this afternoon so that’s something else to look forward to – I’ll keep y’all posted.

What a busy weekend! We went to the wedding of Tony and Heather (Vic’s cousin) on Saturday and had a great time. It was held up near Ipswich so Saturday morning saw us leave home with Me, Vic, Ali and Janet shoehorned into my car that was packed to the gunwales with suitcases and hat boxes
We had left over 2 hours to do a trip that would normally take 1.5 but then ran into 2 accidents! The wedding was at 3 and we got to the hotel at 2:20 and still had to get ready. I was never going to have a problem but the girls had to get changed and put their warpaint on – they did extremely well and we were on our way by 2:45 and luckily the church was only 5 minutes down the road.
The ceremony went smoothly. Heather looked gorgeous and Tony handsome in his full dress uniform (he’s in the Army) The reception was a typical Wright family affair with a lot of very drunk people amusing/embarrassing everyone else
I took a couple of rolls of film including a roll of Ilford ISO 3200 so it’ll be interesting to see how it turns out – I should know tomorrow.
Presents were opened and more food and drink consumed at the brides family home on Sunday and we had a great trip back last night.
All in all a good weekend :vbg:

Vic’s sister Ali arrived from Canada yesterday in time for the family wedding on Saturday. Vic and her sister are very close so of course she was very happy to see her and couldn’t wait to meet her at the railway station.
Last night, as a bit of a treat, the Foreshaw girls went to see My Fair Lady and thoroughly enjoyed themselves
Ali kept nodding off after the 8 hour flight but kept on jerking herself back to the land of the living much to the amusement of Vic and Janet!
Here’s a couple of pictures of me and Ali taken with my Clie (hence the crapness!)

Another long weekend gone and my frustration with 56k dial up is growing 🙁
Vic’s Mum (Janet) turned up safe and sound on Saturday morning much to Vic’s delight. The rest of Saturday was basically spent chilling out and trying to keep Janet awake
On Sunday morning we took Janet into central London to meet up with most of the super six for brunch at Providores. Then it was off up to Colchester for Janet to meet some of her 8 brothers and sisters! and a birthday party that most of them attended. They were, of course, very excited to see her and the red wine mixed with jet lag made for an amusing spectacle
As it was a long weekend we didn’t have to come back and spent Sunday night at Colin and Gills with the trip home only happening after a scrummy roast beef dinner early on Monday evening- yum!
It’s Tuesday now and Vic has the week off to spend with her Mum. I’m staying out of the way as much as possible as she has things planned for almost every day this week and I’m more than happy to leave them to it. Vic’s sister Ali also turns up from Canada on Thursday so it’ll be me and the three Foreshaw girls…………..

Friday lunchtime – had breakfast? check, caught up on emails? check, cleaned guest bathroom to within an inch of it’s life? check
Vic’s Mum, Janet, is arriving in the UK from New Zealand tomorrow and Vic is understandably very excited. It’s a long way from NZ. How long? you ask:
? 1 hour flight Wellington to Auckland
? About 4 hours at Auckland for check-in, security etc
? 12 hour flight from Auckland to Los Angeles
? 2 hours in LA
? Another 12 hour flight from LA to London
? About 3 hours from touchdown to our house
So yeah it’s quite a long trip :dead:
Vic and I have been on a bit of a cleaning frenzy over the last couple of days. I’m not a big fan of cleaning but Vic gets very exact when people visit. I think it’s mainly a girl thing…..
PS: Bloody shop screwed up my second lot of slides. I took two films in at the same time to be developed and got a phonecall about a week later to say they were ready. On picking them up I was told that only one had been finished and that the lab said that the other one would be ready the next day. I went in the next day only to be told that they couldn’t find my film. They called the lab and were told that it wouldn’t be ready until next Tuesday!! How on earth can two films taken in on the same day be sent back almost a week apart? Bastards! 🙁
Given that it’s a 45 minute trip each way this is really turning out to be a pain in the arse! Another problem is that all the shops seem to send slide film away to the same lab (big Kodak one somewhere) so taking my films to another shop isn’t going to help. The only option I have is to take it to a pro lab and pay twice as much 🙁
Bah humbug……

The meeting with my manager (sales director) went really well today
We met up with the operations director and went to a small pub in the countryside. I handed over all my company owned equipment and paperwork, ran through my accounts and then we settled down for a chat and a bite to eat (they even bought me lunch!) The meeting ended up being almost two hours long and was very amicable.
All in all a good day :vbg:

I resigned from my job today.
It took them 10 minutes for them to stop my access to the systems which wasn’t too shabby
I am getting together with my manager tomorrow to give him my resignation letter and to hand over all my company possessions.
I felt bad because of all the time and money they had spent on me over the last ten months but there are things happening there that make it too unstable for my liking. After all I’m soon to be a family man
I have another job lined up and just have to agree on a start date which will probably be at the end of my “gardening leave”
A new day dawns………………….
