As you may have noticed from the sidebar I’m reading The Road by Cormac McCarthy at the moment. At this stage I’m just over half way through and I just have to say that it is one of the most depressing things I have ever read! I’m waiting for some ray of light, some scintilla of hope to appear but it’s not – just a constant barrage of hunger, fear and despair. The most uplifting thing in the first 5 hours of reading is the fact they the man and his son found a cache of food.
Reading this book is like wading through a sea of grey, ash filled molasses…….

A very nice man from our telecom provider visited Vic at home yesterday. He said that he had changed where we connect to the broadband service and that we should see an improvement in our connection speeds.
Our modem, which was connecting at 700kbs, is now connecting at 7600kps and downloading, which averaged 50KB/s, is now averaging 300KB/s

We’ve just got Max’s start date for school
 7th February 2008 – only 3 months away!
Where does the time go? It seems like just yesterday that I was holding him in my arms looking out over the Thames at the Houses of Parliament when he was just hours old……

underpants v2

We tried Elliot in underpants for a couple of days this weekend. Great idea but a bit early for him I think as he really didn’t link wanting to pee with the action itself. Given that he had no idea what was going on we thought we would leave it for a little while longer. He was so proud of his Thomas underpants too!
The really funny thing is that that he looks quite similar to Max in the entry called underpants from a couple of years ago!

another airport

Gee, it seems that all I do is sit in airports doing updates! At the moment I’m in Sydney about to catch a flight to Auckland (and then home tomorrow night – yay!)
This week so far has been spent at a sales kickoff event which was held at the Hunter Valley Crowne Plaza. This resort is set in the middle of Austalia’s premier wine producing area and we didn’t get to do a single wine tour!
Not much to say really – the days were full of blah-blah, the nights full of rah-rah and my head full of cold. Not conducive to partying hard really.

..I’m back at another airport!
I got home OK on Friday and spent the evening with the boys and Vic, which was fantastic. Saturday was spent at home with people visiting and this morning (Sunday) was packing for this trip….
So here I am at the Air NZ lounge doing some work that I didn’t get done last week. The excitement that is my life!
