Morning all and hi from Sydney! Between KL and here I was home for 5 days and it was great to be back. KL was just training so not much to say about it – Sydney has been sales ra-ra stuff and again, not much to say.
Every one at home is well although Elliot seems to be teething again and has turned into a grizzly, dribbly boy. Max just spends his time flipping from gorgeous and funny to stroppy and a pain in the ass – a normal three year old I think!

Six days into my trip and 4 more to go! Nothing to say really as all we’ve been doing is being bombarded with information from 08:30 until 18:30 every day and then usually a dinner in the evening.
I did get a while on Sunday to go for a walk so naturally had to visit the Petronas Towers – once the tallest buildings in the world.

Just as an aside I reached a motoring milestone yesterday in having my first ever $100+ petrol fill up.
Yep, over one hundred smackaroos to fill my car up with petrol – jeesh!

Well it’s eleven days later and only in the last two days have I felt that I was truly on the mend. My “boys” are now no longer looking like black doris plums and I no longer flinch whenever Max or Elliot come anywhere near at speed
It’s also that time of year again when we (Dell that is) hold our tech summit. The last two years have been in Shanghai but this year I get to visit an Asian city that I haven’t visited, Kuala Lumpur. In fact the only time I’ve visited Malaysia was a day trip out of Singapore quite a few years back. In addition to the 4 days of tech summit I’m also staying on for four days of additional training which means I’ll be away for 10 days all up. I’ll mis Vic and the boys but I have an idea that she may miss me more……… I’m back for 5 days then off to Sydney for four!
In adult news Vic and I went out doing grown up things Friday, Saturday and Monday nights! The boys were put to bed by four different sets of people in four days the poor wee mites. I’m sure there won’t be any long term effects though
So Friday night Vic and I went out to the house of our friends Jonny and Emma for dinner. Six of us, pre-dinner drinks, copious quantities of wine and getting to bed at two had us feeling a bit rough in the morning. This was a warm up for Saturday night which saw us at the All Blacks vs South Africa tri-nations rugby test as guests of Dell (yay – free!) We had another night of drinking and even made it onto TV in a closeup crowd shot!
Sunday evening we put the boys to bed ourselves and then Monday we went out for a date
As I am going to be away for a while I thought it would be nice for Vic and I to spend an evening alone so I organised in secret for my Mum to look after the boys and it was dinner and the movies (Pirates of the Caribbean 2 – very mediocre) A lovely evening and one thing that Vic and I should do more often methinks.
So that’s about it for now – I’ll try to post from KL, bye!

I had a vasectomy yesterday and the morning after it feels like I’ve been kicked in the bollocks…..by a small horse, about the size of a tallish Shetland pony maybe.
Luckily whatever the doctor gave me made the whole thing a bit of a blur although due to some issues in the past he said it was the most complicated one he’d done in the 600 he’s completed. Instead of one small laser cut hole I have three – bloody typical!
I’d also like to apologise to all those people that I called on my cellphone on the way home and have no recollection of. Supposedly I was also very rude to Vic and was ordering her to get me snacks from the petrol station on the way home – sorry baby. Whatever the Doc gave me it was some seriously good shit and gave me the munchies really badly

Thanks to everyone that sent emails, left messages, gave gifts or otherwise had any input into my 40th birthday celebrations. I am now officially “in my forties” and don’t feel any the worse for it
In other news Elliot is hardly crawling now and spends most of his time racing around grabbing anything that his new found vertical stature allows him to reach – yay! It has opened up a whole new level of mischief for him and he’s taking full advantage of it……. Other than that the boys have been well with no major health or behavioral issues.
Here are some pics…

A nice day at the beach…..

A big birthday as I’m sure you’ll all agree!
This is what Vic and the boys got me…

Hi there all! I hope you are all well and that someone is still visiting and looking at this update
We’ve all been clogged up with colds for the last couple of weeks but besides that we are OK. This update will go into a couple of the things we’ve been up to and includes a number of pics (hopefully not too much of a download….)
Max has now been going to Kindergarten for over a month and in the last week or so has got over the “this is new and exciting” phase and moved into the “Mum is leaving me and I’m going to freak out” phase! Supposedly this is fairly normal and he seems to be getting a wee bit better already.
One of the things they do is have a kid sized doll at kindy called Lian. Every day someone gets to take her home and then the next day they tell the other children what they got up to (usually in the form of a written report from the parents). It was Max’s turn last week and he had her for two nights.
Everyone gets to have a story
Time for bed
A while back we bought Max a small blow-up globe which he loved. He could point to New Zealand and say that was where we live, point to Australia and say that was where I go for work sometimes and point to the UK and say that is where Zak lives
This was fine until he bit a hole in it and although I tried fixing it things were never going to be the same….. Vic and I decided that as he liked the little one so much we’d buy him a bigger one and see what he thought of it.
You guess.
Elliot is making progress on his walking but still doesn’t take more than a couple of steps at a time. I know we don’t post many pictures of him so here are a couple.
Going for a ride with his brother
Making the kind of faces he makes….
With kindy and playgroup and music and play dates Max leads a hectic life these days. Some days it’s just all a bit much……..
